December 2017 Christmas Party

Annual Holiday Dinner and Auction

Rick Anderson, Club Vice-President, started the meeting at 6:00 pm by welcoming everyone and letting us know that dinner was ready. There were 66 people present, which included members, family members and friends.

Holiday Dinner with lots of good things to eat – ham, turkey, salads, vegetables and desserts.

Joe Mannke, club President, welcomed guests, thanked current board members for their service and conducted the business meeting.

Business Meeting

There will not be any Demonstration or Shop Meets this month due to the holidays.

Voting of new board members: John Peasley was voted in as the new club Vice-President and Andy DiLorenzo was voted in as the new club Secretary. In January, Rick Anderson will move into the role of Club President.

Upcoming Events
Wood Working Show, January 26-28, 2018 in Tampa – Contact Al Brown if you would like to volunteer to work our display and for more information. We still have a few spots to fill. Reminder that we need items to display for this show. Bring them to the January club meeting or contact Al Brown.

February 2018: FL State Fair (February 8-19, 2018) To enter woodworking projects – Registration must be received by January 5, 2018. For registration- go to their website at http://www.floridastatefair.com/p/about/404 . We also need some volunteers to staff the Fine Furniture area at the State Fair. Contact John Darovec for more information.

Other upcoming events – Sarasota County Fair (March 16-25, 2018; entry deadline is February 9 – https://www.sarasotafair.com/creative-arts.html), and Spring Picnic & 2X4 Contest (April)

 

Auction: Denny Wetter was our awesome auctioneer and he did a great job. The auction brought in $966.
