We kicked off the post COVID shop meet season with a special meeting at Larry Simmons shop
Not that Larry’s shop was special, but we celebrated with FOOD. Ed Columbo helped at the grill cooking up some gourmet hotdogs. We completed the meal with a side of baked beans, potato chips, watermelon, and brownies for desert.
We had 8 unexpected guests, when the neighbor’s ducks came over to see what the commotion was all about. They supplied the entertainment.
Everyone sat outside, and, as usual. told lots of lies and jokes, as they ate.
After everyone ate their fill, we moved inside into the air conditioning, to snoop around, while Larry showed off some of his latest purchases and inventions.
An Incra table saw fence, a flip top planer in the out feed table, and a handy knee switch for the table saw.
Then Larry gave a quick demo of using a shooting board with a bench plane, and a quick way to sharpen a plane blade so it gave paper thin shavings off the end grain of a piece of cherry.
Larry also did a little show & tell while showing fancy dovetail corner on a magazine box he just made, with the Incra fence and a router.
Everyone managed to escape before the sky opened up and dropped some much needed rain.
