Scholarship Program
FWWC is pleased to announce a continuing education support scholarship.
Based on an application and proposal from a member, at its sole discretion,
the Board will award one scholarship in 2025 to a member to help offset
costs of attending a woodworking related training or education session. The
scholarship will be a maximum of $750.00 which is to be used to reimburse
costs directly associated with any approved woodworking continuing
education program. The winning member must have paid the 2025 dues and
have been a member for at least one full year. These monies can be used for
reimbursement of tuition or travel costs based on actual receipts submitted.
The member is free to select any woodworking skills training desired. The
member will submit a detail (or link) to the course plus a short essay on why
they want to do this training and how they will share this new learning with
the Club.
The member who is successful winning the award is obligated to present
what they have learned and will demonstrate the new or refined skill, as
appropriate, at one of the monthly meetings after the training is complete.
This is a reimbursement based on actual cost supported by receipts. To help
to timely offset the costs, the Club may reimburse up to 50% of the
registration costs before the training occurs. The limit of the early
reimbursement is 50% of the registration cost or 50% of the scholarship
($375.00), whichever is less. The remaining reimbursements will be made
after the member makes the presentation to the Club at a monthly meeting as
noted above.
